Nautical Retreat

 


How can you not think of good times and the easy life looking at this picture. Perfectly nautical, blue and white stripes. The look is classic and holds true year after.

Is the nautical vibe alive for this spring/summer season? Well,  I don't think the style ever really goes away,  but does naturally come alive in the warmer months. Each year there's a new spin and  even more reasons to fall in love all over again. The stripe trend ties in so well to the nautical energy of  the sea making the over all look a hit from the runway to our home décor.

Bathroom Personality

While I love a clean and fresh look when it come to bathroom décor and design, I do love when you come across one filled with personality. Pops of colour, purposeful art, and tile work all allow for super easy ways for turning your bathroom into a memorable zone. Making it more of a room with design love and not just a functional space.




I always think it's so important to create a vibe in all the spaces of your home. Our washrooms can act as a blank slate to invite relaxation, rejuvenation and why not a little creative wonder.

Spring this Way

Monday, Monday, for most it's one of the hardest yet the most motivating day of week . It's the day when instead of hitting the work floors,  you would much prefer to crawl back into bed and keep those lights off! That being said, once we have finally come around to it, the day seems to take on the spirit of motivation. Day one is here! so lets give it a good go! this of course is the idea :)

So truly, nothing gets me motivated like colour and seeing all the creative ways it can be used. Burst of floral everywhere!!

Seeing Stripes ( Olioboard Design Contest )

What is your favourite part of the design process? For me its a few different things however,  I just love creating mood boards. The development of ideas really begin here for me. Moving from an inspiration into conceptualization, really is a blissful moment.

As you may have already noted,  I have a major affair going on with a certain web site that allows me to create mood boards with sheer easy. Yes, I am referring to one of favourite creative outlets Olioboard : http://olioboard.com , I now mainly use it for the creation of 2D and 3D style mood boards for my interior decorating and visual display work. The great thing is I can keep those boards private while sharing all my other ideas with the Olioboard community.

Did someone say stripes?!! Of course I was in on this one! I have always loved stripes in design, especially when it's done in black and white. There is something powerful about the use these straight lines when putting together statement pieces. This is one trend that has come and gone, but seems to come back stronger each time. This time around my hands are in applause at its presence.
